Corn patties



12 pieces approximately

ingredients:
1 cup corn oil
2 tablespoons of onion finely chopped
2 cups frozen corn
10 sheets of epazote finely chopped
1 cup grated Manchego cheese
1 package of disks for pies

salt and pepper to taste

preparation:
Heat a tablespoon of oil pan, sautee the onion, pour the corn and mix
Add the epazote, salt and pepper and cook for a few minutes
Put some corn and cheese in the center of the disc
Varnish the outline with a little of water, fold and seal the edges by pressing with a fork or with cutter pie
Fry in the remaining oil until is golden on both sides

corn patties dough

ingredients:
1- 1/2 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking powder
3 tablespoons oil or butter
1 egg
1/4 cup water

Preparation:
Mix flour, baking powder and salt and stir with a wooden spoon or scoop
Add egg, water, oil or butter and mix well
Once all is mixed, knead (add more flour if the dough is too sticky)
Make the dough ball and cover with plastic wrap or in a bag to let it stand
Finaly spread it on the table or a clean surface and cut the dough pieces either with a pie cutter, a glass, or small tart pan


fill it with what you want and fry
